NHS App/Medical Records

Increasingly, the NHS App is now the centre of all your healthcare records and needs.

Through the app you are able to

  • order repeat prescriptions
  • view upcoming appointments
  • access your medical records
  • view hospital waiting times according to specialty
  • access test results such as pathology and radiology
  • correspondence about your appointments at various clinics or hospitals

The NHS App provides you with access to your health records and so this must always be your first port of call when requiring evidence or proof for anything regarding your health.

Administrative staff will not provide you with your health records via email or printout as this information is freely available to you using the app. This may vary in exceptional cases.

Requests for any letters specifically written by the doctor (for proof, evidence or support) are NOT considered NHS work and are therefore subject to a fee subject to the doctor’s discretion and depending on the amount of work required. We therefore always strongly suggest that patients check the app first to ensure that this information is not already available to them for free.
